It’s confusing when the maps we used to trust no longer fit the new territory we’re in. If your worldview and belief system is wobbling, as it is for many people in these liminal times, a deeper inquiry into your navigation system gets to the heart of the matter. Surface interventions can only do so much when our fundamental sense of self is stretched.

My Journey

Hello, I'm David. I grew up in Arizona, studied history and information management, and began my career in dot com startups. Although exciting, this work didn’t fulfill my sense of purpose. I switched to non-profit wilderness advocacy work, reconnecting me with my childhood love of forests and wild places. I helped protect 2 million acres of public lands across the US. Then my lifelong love of games led me to design a board game, and I raised nearly $150,000 on Kickstarter to self publish it.

Yet immediately upon achieving this success, I collapsed into a profound dark night of the soul. Something felt horribly wrong inside. Family and friends congratulated me on realizing my dream, but after mastering so much of what my culture told me was important—I felt completely empty, useless, and defeated. My soul cried out for something my culture could not provide.
